Our master bathroom has constantly been a work in progress even though it’s come a loooong way from when we first moved in. While it was a ton better, I always struggled with decorating it because of the small awkward layout and small counter space to work with.
I recently found out that Pier 1 has a bath department and absolutely fell in love with some of their pieces and knew they’d be just what our bathroom needed to be more “us”. I always love the detail in Pier 1’s items and felt that changing out some of the accessories would bring the vintage/rustic/coastal look we love.

So I hit up their bed and bath section and stocked up on a few of the essentials like towels and a new bath mat, and then some pretties like a tall shell vase, new countertop accessories, and a new reed diffuser:
I’ve been using Pier 1’s fragrances for a couple years now, mainly their reed diffusers because the oil lasts for about SIX months(!), and am a little crazed to try all of their gazillion fragrances. The pineapple basil sounded so fresh and summery that I had to go with it (and be fancy with the French side of the box apparently).
Just these few items was all I needed to pull together the random decor pieces I’ve been playing around with. I love how the toiletry accessories and the shell vase add a little bit of bling and glamour to the space, while still having a beachy and vintage look.
We’ve had both gray and white towels in here but the white just always gets too dingy too fast and the gray was darker than I wanted for this tiny room that only has one small window (it’s amazing what a good camera will do!). These textured towels in this light gray/blue shade work MUCH better and give a little more pattern and interest than plain towels do. They’re also super soft which is always required.
The mosaic shell vase is absolutely gorgeous (I’m a sucker for anything shell) and it instantly helped to get some height in here with some faux greenery. The greenery also looks great in here, lending another natural texture and color that was so needed, given that it’s way too dark in here normally to have any live plants unfortunately.
We are loving the re-update of our updated bathroom, just in time for summer! It’s clean, bright, and relaxed with the textures and muted coastal colors we love so much.
