First Anniversary

I’m not a very eloquent or creative writer so as much as I want to, I can’t get all sappy up in here, but will do my best :)

So a year ago yesterday was the day I got to marry my best friend.

More than my best friend, actually, he’s my complete counterpart and one of maybe two people that really get me (and can put up with me).  There’s nothing this guy can’t handle and nothing he can’t help me get through.

Our day was amazing, we lucked out with the absolute perfect weather (just a couple days before it was below freezing here!), wildflowers aplenty, laughter aplenty, everything going smoothly (not completely, but best you can expect for a wedding), and our guests were so sweet and happy.  And just look at our wedding party, how gorgeous are they?!?

Everything was just as we pictured it, a little country, a little fancy, and a little small town backyard-barbeque.  Our vendors were amazing, from my planner Brandi, our photographer Rebecca, our amazing family-friends-turned-officiant-and-cake baker, our cool-with-my-OCD-planned out-playlist DJ, and the mouthwatering Salt Lick BBQ dinner.  Sure wish I wasn’t nervous the whole night so I could have downed a heaping plate of it!

I just can’t believe this was all only a year ago!  We remember every little thing and every feeling we had the whole weekend: wedding party all closing down a bar after the rehearsal, getting ready with the girls, solid dude time picking up kegs, our first look, seeing all the guests arrive, the dancing, after partyin’ late night with everyone.  I know the first year is so tiny compared to many couples but it is awesome to look back on it and to get excited about it all over again, and for many to come!

We were very lucky to have our day featured on Style Me Pretty so you can read all about us, our day, and see way more pictures there.  And, I am going to devote this week’s posts to our wedding and our anniversary celebration so I will be back with some posts about the DIYs I did for the wedding.  It’s my blog, I can make it a week-long celebration, right?

  1. It was a beautiful day – and yes, full of much laughter, joy, family and the stuff that makes good stories to be told for years to come:)
