First Week Favorites

It’s back to reality for us today after spending the last three days at the Austin City Limits music festival.   This was our fifth year and, as usual, we had an amazing time with amazing friends in amazing Austin seeing amazing artists (twenty-one pilots and Glass Animals were by far my faves).  It’s soooo hard for us to leave it all but we are already looking forward to next year.   I was a bad blogger and didn’t take many pics this year, but you can catch my 2014 ACL rundown here, each year is much the same :)

I’ve got to recoup quickly though because I’m gearing up for another One Room Challenge project (eeeek!) as well as having a super fun surprise with this week’s Think and Make Thursday link party. But first, it’s time for the October First Week Favorites!

Six things I've been loving around the web lately

one
cotton bowl covers

There’s nothing I hate more than messing with saran wrap or dirtying up storage containers just to save or cover something for a few hours.  These would be a much better solution; reusable, easy to use, and pretty.  Perfect for letting dough rise too!  You sewers out there can probably whip some of these up pretty easily I bet.

two
round beach towel

Genius.  Pure genius.  A round beach towel that’s not only gorgeous, it makes total sense.   One of these would be a pretty sweet gift and it would be really nice for picnics and outdoor concerts (could’ve used it at ACL!)

three
little skunk designs pennants

My friend Laura from Avery Street Design showcased these guys in her post about the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago and I just had to check them out.  It seems fitting to share a cute artist from Austin coming off of ACL, and I love both of these Texas city pennants she has, each place is so special to me.  There’s a ton of others as well as custom designs, pillows, and banners.  So, so cute.  Oh, and I am NOT going to miss this fair when it comes back to Austin!

four
vintage enamel tray cart

How cute is this cart made from vintage enamel trays and wooden casters?!  Pricey, yes, but would be a do-able DIY if you are lucky enough to find some cool old trays that are similar.  Just one more reason I need to go to Round Top next spring.

five
scalloped cement planters

I definitely see a few of these in my future for my upcoming One Room Challenge space.  I love that the scallops kinda look like fish scales :)

six
Harp Design Co wood and glass pendants

Yet another reason I need more places for lighting in my house.  The whitewashed wood on these is just beautiful and would go so well in a white cottage/farmhouse kitchen.  My mom is building a house next year and I’m totally trying to convince her she needs a pair of these.
