What better way to celebrate finally getting our kitchen done than to jet off to Hot-lanta for five days of fun with my blogging besties at the Haven Conference?! We are having tons of fun already with three days of awesome sessions and workshops starting in the morning. Follow along on Instagram to see what we’re up to there!
And in the meantime, here are August’s First Week Favorites!!

Now that the kitchen is done, complete with beautiful vintage door to the laundry room, our laundry room is looking even more “meh” than it was before. It is tiiiiny but I just know it can be alot more functional for us with some tweaks so I’m thinking about taking it on in this fall’s One Room Challenge. I would love to snag this sign for the makeover and continue the vintage vibe from the kitchen!
These puppies stopped me in my tracks while browsing furniture the other day! I’m such a sucker for the wood/metal combo and I love the oval shape to them. They would work great for a multitude of styles too.

UPDATED affiliate marketing eBook
If you’ve read my Blogging Tips, you saw me mention my friend Tasha’s eBook “Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers” which she released last September. Well, alot has changed in a year of course so she decided to launch an updated version of the book, PLUS an e-Course as well! There is a TON of new material in both and I know alot of it will answer many of the questions myself and other bloggers have had over the last year. How to use links, how links work, what platforms there are, how to read the reports, effective strategies…all kinds of stuff! If you’re a blogger who needs help in the affiliate arena, you’ll definitely want to check this update out!!

new girly heels
I think there are two types of DIYers, all of us love our power tools and a good day’s hard work and dirtiness, but I feel like there’s a group that goes about the rest of their day beautifully girly and then a group that kind of stays along the same line as their DIY clothes. I like to think I’m somewhere in between (and there’s not a thing wrong with either side!) but for Haven I definitely need to channel the girly side just a bit more. It’s the one time a year I’ll bust out some wedges/heels and this year I really pushed my comfort zone and tried these bad boys. And OMG they were so comfortable!! I may have started a new problem…

gray carved daybed
We love our Ikea Hemnes daybed because of all its storage and the trundle BUT, it’s not near as gorgeous as this beauty! I actually saw one of these during the Port Aransas home tours in a beautiful beach house and snapped a pic with my phone so I could seek it out someday…and here it is! And dang, $320 isn’t a bad price at all for something so unique!! Need.fourth.bedroom.
The beloved vintage olive buckets you see everywhere lately sure are pretty but they can also be a pretty penny, so I was stoked to find this guy at Tarjay for a much more reasonable price! It would be perfect to plop a faux plant into or hold some towels in a guest bath. Stock up!
See you next Wednesday for our August Monthly DIY Challenge!
