They’re here and they’re perfect!!! I swear getting our custom holiday cards in the mail each year is just as exciting as getting your wedding invitation suite in…maybe better because you get to do it every year. This year’s are here and I’m so excited to show them to you!!

We get our cards from Minted each year because of their AWESOME selection of unique designs, immense customization options, free addressing service (holla!), and to support individual artists. You can check out all the perks Minted has to offer and how they make ordering super simple in last month’s post HERE and you can see which ones we sent out last year HERE.
I knew I wanted to use our announcement picture on this year’s cards so I looked for designs with colors that would blend with our light and beachy photo. I still adore their ornament cards like we sent last year, but I couldn’t quite get our picture to look great on them so we went for a more traditional sized card but picked one in this fun luggage tag shape to still keep it quirky. I’m always drawn to the more non-traditional styles. The kraft brown and light blues and grays worked perfectly with our pic and there were tons of text boxes so that we could customize all the text to fit both holiday wishes and exciting 2017 wishes. You absolutely can’t ask for a better perk than the FREE recipient addressing and return address options either! Seriously all you have to do is stuff the envelopes then take them to get mailed, done and done! No.addressing.anything.yourself. Well, and also adding a little string to make them even cuter if you’re like me :)
We feel like ours came out PERFECT this year but it sure wasn’t without a lot of stress in choosing from all their designs! Here are the five runner-ups that we tussled over for days and what we loved about each one:
Deckled Merrier Than Ever
We really liked the torn paper edge look on this card and that there was a filter over the image to give it a more rustic look. Our photo looked great on this card (with the navy/gray border) and inspired me to put a filter on our photo to get a similar look on the style we settled on.
Some Gifts
While this style is one of their basic pregnancy announcements and isn’t technically one of their holiday cards it definitely has a holiday vibe with the “gifts” text on it. That phrase has a ton of weight behind it and would have worked perfect for us, we just wanted a little more oomph behind the design.
Simple Elegance
We really liked how the light gray and bottom-horizontal aligned text box worked on our photo, especially with the different edge treatments, but it just felt a tad too fancy for us with the floofy cursive font. The navy blue with faux copper foil text would be stunning on a black and white photo though.
Snowflake
Like I mentioned, I LUURRRVE their ornament cards! The designs on them are gorgeous and I love that it’s something that recipients can hang on their trees instead of just tossing them in the regular ‘ol pile or clipping them somewhere. This is the only style that our photo looked decent on but it still didn’t quite work. Plus these do require extra postage.
Glisten
I’m still really dying to do some foil-pressed cards some year and I loved this style, maybe next year. This was my first runner-up but again, our picture just wasn’t quite right on it. Definitely have it earmarked for next year though!
I absolutely love holiday card season, I feel like it’s a dying tradition and refuse to let that happen :) Especially when they are so SO fun to pick out!!
How about you guys? Do you send cards out every year?
*This post was sponsored by Minted however all opinions are mine as always.
Your card is gorgeous! And I agree, Minted has such a beautiful line of cards; it’s always hard to choose which one I like, so I totally get having a runner-up (or two.) :) Hope you have an amazing day!
Such.a.hard.decision!!! Thanks Jennie!
